Such is Suda51's Killer Is Dead: Nightmare Edition, a Steam game that stars a cybernetically enhanced assassin named Mondo Zappa who slays vampires, mystics, and other monstrosities for a government agency. If Battlefield and Call of Duty have turned you off from shooters, Vanquish's unique take on the genre may be the title to make you strap on your in-game guns.
